You can view a contract's Master and/or Children either from Search, or from within the contract itself.

From Search

If you search for a particular contract in Contract Eagle, you can easily see its related contracts in the set of search results.
To get started, do a search in Contract Eagle using either in the search box in the top right-hand corner of the screen, or go to the Contracts menu > Searching / Reporting.

Did you know: our search box is so relaxed, it doesn't even mind if you don't put in a search term! Just click the magnifying glass button to bring up all your contracts (or tasks, or parties) in the search results.

"Master Contract" column in Search Results

After performing a search, the Search Results screen will display a column for Master Contract by default. This will show you the name of any Master Contract for a particular contract in the search results - see screenshot below.

"Relations" button in search results

Each contract In a list of search results has a Relations button next to it. Click this button to view a contract's Master and/or Child contracts. If the contract has a Master above it and Children below, these will all be displayed.

  1. Click the Contracts menu > Searching / Reporting > then click the Advanced Contract Search tab.

  2. Enter a contract ID and tick the box to Show Related Contracts

  3. Click Search. This search will display your contract plus any Master and/or Children.

From within the contract

Instead of performing a search, you may be viewing a particular contract and decide you wish to check if it has a Master or Children.

Open any contract in your database and make sure you are in the Contract Maintenance Screen. If it doesn't say "Contract Maintenance Screen:" at the top, with the contract ID and name, then scroll down and click either the View or Edit button.

Click the Related Contracts tab to display any Master and/or Child contracts for this contract.

If there is no Related Contracts tab, it's because this contract type has been configured in your database to not allow master and child relationships. You will not be able to relate contracts of this type to others in your repository.

If you still need to set up a Master and Child relationship, talk to your Power User about editing the Contract Type to enable this functionality.
