Audience: all users

The Contract Eagle Dashboard shows you which contracts need your attention - or your team's attention - right now or in the near future.

To go to the Dashboard, click the Dashboard icon on the menu:

Two Tabs - "My Dashboard" & "Team Dashboard"

My Dashboard tab shows you any tasks or approvals assigned to you, and any contracts where you have a role.
Team Dashboard tab shows tasks or approvals assigned to anyone in your Business Unit(s), and contracts where anyone in your Business Unit(s) has been assigned a role.
Use My Dashboard to manage your own contract workload, and the Team Dashboard to monitor your team's response to contract milestones.

The tab that appears when you launch the Dashboard will be the last tab you viewed.

This help article will cover each Dashboard section, combining the "My" and "Team" version, eg "My Alerts" and "Team Alerts" will be dealt with under "Alerts", etc.

Alerts

The Alerts section of the Dashboard displays the most pressing items on your contract management workload. It will display totals for the following items (unless the count is zero):

  • Approvals Required - the number of contracts where someone in your organization has requested approval from you, or someone in your Business Unit.

  • Unclaimed Tasks - tasks assigned to you, or someone in your Business Unit, which haven't yet been claimed. Claiming a task is like putting your hand up to carry out that piece of work and demonstrates to the team that someone is looking after it. A large number of unclaimed tasks might suggest a large number of contracts requiring action which have been overlooked.

  • Overdue Tasks - tasks assigned to you, or someone in your Business Unit, for which the due date has passed. These tasks may be claimed or unclaimed. Like unclaimed tasks above, a large number of overdue tasks might suggest a large number of contracts requiring action which have been overlooked.

  • Tasks due within N days - tasks assigned to you, or someone in your Business Unit, with an approaching due date. These tasks may be claimed or unclaimed. These links allow you to manage work coming up.

Each of these items in the Alerts section is a clickable link. For example:

  1. Click the "n unclaimed tasks" link from the Team Dashboard.

  2. Contract Eagle takes you to a list of search results of "all tasks, assigned to anyone in your Business Unit, which are unclaimed".

  3. Click any task from the search results for more details, or to manage the task by claiming, reassigning or completing it.

Contracts Monthly

This is the column chart on the Dashboard:

Click on a monthly column to see a list of contracts where you or someone in your Business Unit has been assigned a role, and which have an event or task due that month. The task itself may be assigned to someone else, but the contract is determined to be one of yours (or someone in your Business Unit) based on the contract roles.

You can click along the other monthly columns to see other contracts with events due in the coming months. For more detail on any contract, click it from the list to see dates, contract owner, attached documents, etc.

Having clicked a column, to go back to the normal dashboard view, click once more on the last column you clicked:

Tasks

The Task list shows upcoming tasks assigned to you, or assigned to people in your Business Unit. To show more tasks, click the Show More link:

The Task list is usually sorted by Due Date (Ascending), but you can click another column heading to change the sort order.

To view any task, click it from the list. This will take you into a view where you can manage the task by claiming, reassigning or completing it; or you can use the View Contract button for more detail on the contract itself, documents attached, etc.

The Task list can be customized to add or remove certain columns to the view, and to change the number of items displayed in the initial view before you need to click "Show More". See our article on how to Customize Dashboard Charts and Lists.

Contracts

The Contracts list shows any contract where you, or people in your Business Unit, have a role. This list is usually sorted by either Next Event Due (Ascending) or My Next Event Due, but you can click another column heading to change the sort order.

To show more contracts, click the Show More link at the bottom:

By default, the Contracts list only shows active contracts. It also displays a column for contract status so you can use this to monitor contracts through your organization's contract workflow processes.

You can click any contract in the list to open a preview of that contract and see more details (event dates, attached files, etc).

The Contracts list can be customized to add or remove certain columns to the view, to change the default status filter, and to change the number of items displayed in the initial view before you need to click "Show More". See our article on how to Customize Dashboard Charts and Lists.
